General Summary
The Garden Center Associate will assist in offering outstanding customer service while focusing on the care of live plants and greenery in our Garden Center areas and helping to maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall cleanliness.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Service:
Provide a positive representation of Steve's Ace.
Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
Greet customers entering and throughout the store.
Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.
Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of garden center layout and location of products.
Assist customers throughout the garden center with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time.
Store Operations
Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.
Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the garden center.
Assist in caring for live plants by watering, weeding, and other tasks deemed necessary by the Garden Center Manager.
Assist with maintaining back stock levels.
Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the garden center merchandise area.
Assist with creating visually appealing merchandise resets through the garden center.
Ensure signage is current throughout the garden center.
Communicate any Garden Center Support Center issue to Store Manager for follow up.
Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to Garden Center Manager.
Participate in store meetings.
Be professional in appearance and actions.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Other Essential Requirements
Experience
Formal retail and/or garden center experience preferred but not required.
Physical Demands
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 30lbs frequently, and occasionally up to 50lbs) and climbing.
This position operates in a retail garden center environment requiring work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather.
No experience is necessary.
All employees will be required to complete orientation, basic, advanced, and expert training as well as ongoing continued education.
Salary
$8 - $15 an hour with the potential for an end of season bonus
